A WEED IS A PLANT IN THE WRONG PLACE

This project explores how wild plants can be seen as inherited heirlooms from nature and become symbols of our desire to return to more natural roots. The artists question the difference between the idea of a constructed home—the one we select and build for ourselves—and the natural home we receive through nature, viewing it as an inheritance. They question whether these plants are in the wrong place or if we are the intruders rather than the wild plants. Is nature trying to reclaim land, or is it confined to the unattended corners of our towns' pavements? By focusing on these wild-growing plants, the artists highlight them as heirlooms inherited over time through nature. These wild plants also become a metaphor for desire, a longing for what was and what will be, and the yearning for harmony with a more natural state.
